“The Empowered Entrepreneur”: Empowered Through Seasonal Color & Style

If you haven’t read Elizabeth Cairns book, “The Empowered Entrepreneur” you really must. Elizabeth is an amazing coach for entrepreneurs of all types and has been one of the guiding lights for me as I’ve built my Seasonal Color & Style business. But throughout our coaching time together we discovered that Elizabeth was missing a key “empowering” tool herself and that was the power of knowing her seasonal color & style — not just for branding one’s business, but for how one shows up in the world.

And as Elizabeth learned more about my work, she realized that she wanted and needed this tool for herself. (You can watch her exploring the idea of a personal color analysis with me on this IG video).

Elizabeth had been analyzed in a couple of other color systems in the past and typed as a light spring and an autumn but the pre-packaged colors she was given didn’t really feel “right”. She could see the power of color in creating a business brand, but she never could see how the seasonal colors applied to herself. As a woman of wisdom and substance her style and color choices were not reflective of all she had to offer.

As I began the journey of discovery with Elizabeth it quickly became clear that her personal color harmony called for a clear color quality or intensity and that her coloring was rooted, in fact, in the Spring Season.

A Wildflower Spring

Elizabeth’s color palette is reminiscent of an early spring wood when the ferns are unfurling and the early spring flowers are emerging.  Black & brown earthy tones with varying shades of green comprise the bulk of her palette, with highlights of violet and cornflower, cream and golds. There is nothing cookie-cutter or pre-packaged about her beautiful bespoke palette.

And these colors are beautifully expressed through her preference for a natural style as well. The focus words I chose to guide her style choices are Light, Organic & Spirited.

Elizabeth is naturally beautiful so she always looks lovely (even when not dressed in her ideal colors) but you can see how much her presence is magnified and supported in the right colors. It’s been about 10 months since Elizabeth received her color palette and style guide (you can view the unveiling here) and when I checked in with her to see how things were going with it, she shared, ”It's been such a revelation having my color and style… Having such a detailed steer on what I know will work for me saves me time and gives me such a lovely feeling of confidence… “

“Choosing the color and style for my recent photo shoot wasn't fraught with the usual doubt and the photographer was delighted with the result. “

Elizabeth goes on to say, “I was particularly delighted with the accessories you recommended as I previously have rarely accessorized and am enjoying doing that now. I'm able to confidently choose my colors for the impression I want to make and it's been fascinating to see people's responses, in particular wearing my dramatic color - it definitely has a great impact.”

Dressing with intention is one of the gifts that the knowledge of your seasonal color & style provides. And it also invites you into another realm when it comes to dressing yourself — one that is far from the noise of fashion runways and instead listens to your own inner voice as you ask, “How do I need my outfit to support me today? and “How does what I’m wearing create harmony between my inner and outer self so that I am truly seen, so that I am empowered to do the work that I’ve been called to do?”.

If you’ve been missing this key empowering tool in your life, book your own color & style journey today.
